My ISP just introduced IMAP service. My e-mail account in K-9 Mail on my Galaxy S5 is set up as a POP3 account, because that's all they had until now. I went into the account settings and entered the new IMAP server information, but it wouldn't connect. I noticed the heading where I entered the info said "POP3 server"; is it still looking for a POP3 server even though I entered "imap.xxxxx.net"? Is there any way to change this without deleting the whole account in K-9 Mail? Thank you.

Welcome to Android Central! I think you have to go through the whole process of adding the email account again, after removing the current account. I don't think you can simply change a setting to go from POP3 to IMAP. Do you have a lot of saved emails on the phone from the POP3 account that aren't also on the main server?
