AP currently not in use. Internet connection too slow, how do i fix

Just bought a Samsung Galaxy Tab E for my partner for Christmas but im finding it hard to connect to the WiFi, it says "AP currently not in use, connection too slow" but its not too slow, the info says the signal strength is very strong, with a link speed of 72mbps.

Ive tried resetting my router, resetting the factory settings on the tablet, ive set my IP Settings from DHCP to Static and used my actual IP address, this came closest to working as i got connected but i couldn't actually use the web or the appstore.

can some one please help?
