The iPhone 5 uses a nanoSIM, so if the SIM is any larger than that, it won't fit. However, your carrier should give you a new SIM for free. Once you have a nanoSIM, you can buy a set of adapters on eBay for about $1 (including shipping - they're probably only worth 10 cents retail, and you're paying for the shipping, not the adapters), and adapt the cart to any phone. (I use a set to use my microSIM in an old flip phone that uses full size SIMs, and it works fine.)
