Does the users manual show the meaning &/or how to use types of attachments?

received pics by txt pop up had a down load notification with with a time & date experation? no pics. Lack of knowledge of new icons etc

Welcome to Android Central! You shouldn't need a manual for that. If someone sent you pictures via text, that's a MMS message, which requires your mobile data (3G/4G) to be turned on. MMS doesn't work over voice signal or wi-fi. Is your mobile data on?
