Why is Xfinity Connect asking for my credentials?

why is xfinity connect asking for my credentials?

I've had xfinity connect on my android for years. All of a sudden last night a message flashed telling me my credentials had changed and displayed a username password page for me to enter them. Is this for real or a hack? I uninstalled the app and reinstalled it. Still same black screen with the xfinity logo and two input fields for username and password. Is this legitimate?

Sometimes the app needs a refresh of your login. It happens to me on my Time Warner apps from time to time, usually after an update.
