Remove remote album from gallery

I was just checking my phone and noticed that there was a gallery called "Facebook" on my phone - and it contains all these old photos from Bitstrips and 2008. I This album wasn't there earlier today and I don't know how it could have gotten there. I unsynced Facebook from my phone, but I still can't delete any of these photos. I'm kind of anal about what I want viewable on my phone and I have lot of important memos and pictures, so I'd prefer not to reset my phone.

How can I delete this album or at least make it not viewable.

Gallery can make pictures hidden. Or you can root the phone, find the pictures (that Facebook failed to delete when you uninstalled it) and delete that folder manually.
