My phone says my wifi has used up my data, what does this mean?

My phone says my wifi has used up my data

I recently got an android, and at the same time I started downloading offline music from spotify to listen to. I'm sure that I was using my home wifi and my data was off. However on my data usage screen, it says I have used 10gb, my limit is 3gb. Does this mean my home wifi just exceeded my data plan?

Welcome to Android Central! Is the Data Usage screen specifically showing Mobile Data or Wi-fi Data usage? How did you turn off your mobile data?
