Instead of having to highlight a number, copy, switch to call app, paste the number, and dial, is there a way to dial a number found on a website directly? I heard something about copyright issue with Apple, but is there another app or workaround to accomplish this?

For non-iOS devices (because Apple has a software patent for automatically creating links), the website's developer has to intentionally insert a tel: hyperlink into their site to make the phone number clickable and route directly to your phone app. The only alternative would be to use a 3rd party browser that thumbs its nose at Apple's patent and has built it in.

An example of what website developers need to do, would be to use the following format when inserting phone numbers into their pages.

    <a href="tel:1-847-555-5555">1-847-555-5555</a>

How to stop my phone from opening the "Hangouts" website every time I tap on a number?

I can't even copy and past the number anymore!?

Why do Google keep making things worse and worse, like they're trying to annoy their users? What is the purpose of this?
