my typing is not working on my phone PLEASE HELP!!!

I'm not sure what type of phone exactly, I know its a Verizon mobile android. its kind of old. but anyways its not letting me type, there is no software that allows me to type anyway because its a automatic thing.. Google, text plus, messanger, these are some of the apps that I need to type in but the keyboard does not pop up, so I have no way to actually use my phone.. I don't know if this is fixable? or just a bug? please help!!

Go into the main settings menu, then input/language and make sure you have a default keyboard selected. Once you have checked this, you can try rebooting your phone. A factory reset may also help this, although it is a pain. Can you take it to Verizon and have them help you? If it's not fixable, they might replace it for you.
