How can I use my heart rate monitor during sleep?

I have a pebble smart watch. I also have a polar fitness watch with a chest strap. Would either one of these monitor my heart rate during sleep? The pebble watch is a basic watch; not a lot of bells and whistles....

I would like this information recorded and tracked on my sleep app

If not, how would I accomplish this task?

Welcome to Android Central! The Pebble doesn't have a native heart rate monitor, but TYLT recently came out with an attachable monitor: Add Heart Rate Monitoring to the Pebble Time With a Simple Snap-on Case. In passive mode, it only check the HR every half hour, so I'm not sure if it would drain the battery excessively if it was actively checking the whole night.

Not sure about the Polar. What does the manual say?

Polar says they do not have interface to work with sleep app. They have smartwatch A360 with sleep app from polar. No cross-over
