I can hear them and they can hear me if I put it on speaker phone

Welcome to Android Central! If people can hear you clearly when you're on speakerphone or wired/Bluetooth headsets, then the primary phone mic's speaker opening could be clogged by debris, or the mic itself might be faulty. Use a safety pin or needle to gently scrape out the microphone opening, in case there's a lot of lint or other residue in there. If it looks pretty clear and people still can't hear you, then bring the phone to a repair shop (or contact Moto if the phone is still under warranty).
