In 2012/2013 I had a samsung phone (can't remember what type), but stopped using it and got a new phone, but yesterday I broke my phone and need to use my old samsung as a back up phone, but I can not remember which email I used for it (and I can't try the pattern password anymore), so I can't get into it. It also won't allow me to do a factory reset. Is there any way I can find out which email account was used for the phone?

If you enter the wrong password or PIN, does it prompt you to go to your Google account to reset your password/PIN?

If that does not help, you might want to take your device to your carrier's store, along with a photo ID. They should be able to assist you.

No it doesn't, it just tells me to login to my email account to be able to get into the phone. I have taken it in today, they didn't know how to get into it and just told me to try to figure out which email account I used, but I have checked every email account i have ever had and none have ever been used for a samsung phone

It might not be that none of your email accounts was ever used for a Samsung phone but that after a period of inactivity the phone was dropped from your account as having access.
