Why is my phone in chinese for keyboard imput?

I guess i went running or something and accidentally pressed some wrong buttons, because now, i can only type in chinese, or extra small english with no autocorrect so theres no way of decoding any of it. i went to settings and they are still the same as how i left them when it did work. how can i fix this? its driving me insane.
