Lenovo ZUK Z1 - Google Hangouts Call Issue, Any help?

A while ago I bought a ZUK Z1 for my wife. We were pleased with what it offered for such a competitive price, but there was an issue. We use Hangouts a lot, sometimes for calls. Unfortunately, ZUK Z1 does not receive her side of the conversation. She can hear me fine when I call her, but all I get is dead silence. I've tried EVERYTHING I could think of, changed every possible setting that could be related to microphone. I does not work with a wireless headset either, and normal calls work fine.

Out of desperation, I've updated the phone from Cyanogen 12 / Android 5.x to CyanogenMod 13, Android 6.x. NO DICE. The problem persists. When she calls me via Hangouts from her iPhone, it works fine, so it has nothing to do with her Google settings, either. I'm all out of ideas. Please, help.

Welcome to Android Central! If you're able to set individual Permissions, go to Settings>Apps​, select Hangouts, then Permissions, and make sure it has permission to use the microphone.
