How do I do a backup before rooting?

AC Question

How to backup before rooting?

I'm pretty noob to Android and want to root my device. I haven't found a clear answer on how to backup everything. And if my device bricks, would restoring it with this backup do anything?

Hi, Just connect your mobile with PC and copy all the folders to your PC , for backup of audio images and other files like this , for call logs and SMS you can download an application named "SMS & Call log backup".

hope this solves your problem :)

If your device bricks, you would need the os installed and a backup would not provide it.
Helium is an app to try as it backs up your information via desktop and mobile app. It does not require root.

Question you would have to ask yourself is why you would want root? I used to root all the time, but I only ever needed it to use franco kernel and for titanium backup. In the end I found it wasn't worth it. Each person is different but if not done properly you can easily brick your device.
