My GF has an iPhone 6s and I want to get a Samsung Galaxy S7, but she is reluctant to me doing that because then we wouldn't be able to use iMessage to text.

She is a flight attendant and can be international at time so this is our only means of contact when she is gone.

Note: She doesn't want to use an app to do this.

No. There is no way to use iMessage on an Android phone and regular SMS messages require some kind of cell connection (or WiFi calling). In theory she should be able to connect to wifi and use WiFi calling to send text messages through the carrier.

Is Wifi calling in an app that needs to be downloaded?
