Why can't I connect to my school wifi?

(I have a Samsung J3) I have the correct password but when I connect it just stays on obtaining IP and sometimes it will say failed to connect. When I type in the IP (I can connect to it using my laptop and can get it from there) it says it may not give me a real connection when I connect.

Does it give you the issue with other WiFi networks? If not, maybe you need to ask the school to try and update the router's firmware. Some routers are wonky with some phones (granted, it's usually Samsung phones) and only work when updating their firmware or changing channels.

Also try disabling Bluetooth on your phone when connecting to WiFi and see if that helps.
