    I just noticed this today.

I go to a conversation in the standard text messaging app. Normally if I select a message for a few seconds, it gives me the option to select a message or select all.

But today, I don't see the check boxes next to a message, nor do I see the select all check box, after selecting a message for a second.

I only have the option to delete an individual message.

    Can someone help?

    I'm on Android 6.0.1.

If you want to delete all messages in the thread, how about deleting the whole thread from the text message app main screen? Just long-press that conversation/contact until it's selected and press delete or trash can.

Thanks. I don't want to delete all messages though, just select ones.

I've always been able to select individual messages, until yesterday.
