Moving apps to SD card with 4.4.2

Hi all
I've tried to find an answer to this, but no such luck. I have a phone (Alba 4") running 4.4.2 but the option button to move any of my apps to my SD card is ghosted out.
The confusing thing is I'm sure the phone I had before this (Samsung Ace 2, which would allow me to move most apps) had the same or maybe even earlier version of Android. Confused.com!
Help! My phone doesn't have much internal memory, so I'm really limited to the amount of apps I can use, it's really frustrating, especially with a 64gb SD card waiting to get used!! By the way, I don't want to root my phone....

I believe that requires both hardware capability on the phone and in the OS. It appears your Alba isn't compatible, but some are very finicky with this. Have you tried other SD cards or tried to access files on the existing card?
