    The software never installs. The process goes as far as download, restart to install, but then the error message that it wouldn't install (doesn't say why), and also says "Try the smart switch on your computer". Then sends a report to Samsung.

    Welcome to Android Central! And did you try Smart Switch?

    I have not tried the Smart Switch as I'm traveling this summer and do not have access to a computer. I did the cache wipe and tried the software install again, but with the same result. Can I access the Smart Switch on the internet on my phone? And thanks for your help!

    No, Smart Switch is a computer program. Just to be clear -- the phone was purchased through MetroPCS, and you're still using it on MetroPCS's network, correct? I ask this because a carrier-specific phone that's used on a different carrier's network usually won't successfully install a system update pushed over-the-air.
