Instagram broken phone

[BlueFoot S6]

Just installed Instagram on my relatively new S6, was working fine before I installed it, now my phone is much slower and automatically turns off every 2 mins - and takes a chunk of battery with it.
This phone is second hand, so it could be a software issue - but it has nothing to do with hardware as my friend uses Instagram with ease on his S6 and has done for 2 years
Any ideas what I can do to fix this?

Welcome to Android Central! If you uninstall Instagram, do things go back to normal? You're installing it from the Play Store, correct?

I have uninstalled it, but that has not stopped anything
Yes it has been downloaded from the play store

I have no idea why its done this - nothing I have done beforehand that could cause this, no dowloads outside of the app store and no dodgy website visits
