Cannot pair headset with LG-K540

Trying to pair a headset and running into major problems.

When I try to pair I get a message with a 6 digit code that says "Make sure this number matches the number on the device."

The code is different every time. According to the manufacturer the default code they use is 0000. However, I am never prompted to enter the code or change the code.

Any ideas about what I can try?

Thanks!
Jim

When you get that message on the phone, is there a button for OK or Pair? If so, what happens if you accept it?

Once it finds the headset and shows it in the list, you tap the name and it goes to pairing.

After a few seconds, it comes back and says that the pin entered is invalid. But there is never a way to enter a new pin that I have been able to find.

Strange thing, this is on my wife's phone. I can pair it to my Samsung phone with no problems.....

Which headset do you have? When you pair it with your wife's phone, does it say the code is 0000?

It is a Sentry PR BT 250. It always shows a six digit PIN that is different every time.

And I have not been able to find a way to enter a different PIN. It just shows the message and when you hit the headset in the list it does not give you an opportunity to enter any code at all.

Whoops, sorry -- I thought the LG was your phone, and the Samsung was your wife's.

Not sure why that's happening. Let me see if any of the other Ambassadors have an idea.
