Locked out of a device after resetting Google password and factory resetting the phone
I just wiped my phone (running Android 5) using the Recovery menu. Before doing that, though, I resetted my Google account password cause I didn't remember it and knew it would be required to log back in. Did all that and after restarting my factory reset phone, I'm locked out of my device - it tells me to "sign in using one of the owner's accounts" and I do precisely that but putting my credentials in only results in the login screen appearing again.
From what I read, if you change your Google account password and reset your device using the recovery menu, it activates some kind of security measure which forbids you to log in for anywhere between 24 and 72 hours. Is there any way to validate myself so that the device lets me in or am I stuck with a brick for the next X hours and can do nothing about it?

Unfortunately, you're stuck with a "brick" until 24 hours after you reset the password.
