How do I upgrade Android from 4.4.2 on my Samsung S5? (Instructions do not work)

As usual following SOP instructions doesn't work...

I have a Samsung S5 stuck at Android 4.4.2. I've tried repeatedly to get it to update by going to Settings>About Device>Software Update. I just get a window saying the latest updates have already been installed. How can I manually get it to update?

Has an update for your specific model/region/carrier been released? If you're using a carrier model that's NOT on said carrier, OTA updates might be blocked. And if the update hasn't been released in your specific region or for your specific model, then the phone won't see any updates.

You can try with SmartSwitch (not sure if for the S5 it works or if you need the older Kies and see if the software finds a WiFi update, not OTA).
