Why wont my phone work

I bought a Susan m5 smartphone from wish. I live. In Australia. It won't recognize my optus prepaid sim card. It is supposed to be unlocked.

No. I think its unbranded. When phone is turned on it comes up with susan

Mines doesn't work either so does the play store

The phone has to support the network bands that the carrier uses. If it doesn't, then it won't work on that carrier. Unfortunately, I can't find any detailed specs for that phone anywhere.

If the Play Store didn't come preinstalled on the phone, that means the phone isn't Google Play certified, and Google apps and services probably won't work.

Wish handset SUSAN M5 (internally X8) has a Spreadtrum SPD8825 dual core SOC from 2012, with NO support for WCDMA, only support for GSM bands, which means it will not work in Australia...
