Trying to get my voice to text messages on my Galaxy phone.

When I open up my messages there is no option to speak my messages to the phone like I had on my old iphone which was Siri.

I then downloaded an app but I cant find it and doesnt seem to work.

Is there a good free app that can assist with this?

Which keyboard are you using? If you use the stock keyboard (or GBoard or SwiftKey) and you enable voice dictation, a microphone button should be there. You can also tap the keyboard button on your navigation bar and change the keyboard to Google Voice Typing (you might have to enable it in your Language input settings if it doesn't show up).

Additionally, you can initiate a text with Bixby or the Google Assistant. Both should work when you say 'Text (insert contact name or number here), (insert message here)'.
