Message tone not in contact edit

So when I go into my contact list and click edit, scroll down to see ringtones and vibrate but it doesn't have the spot for messages on my s8+. Please help

Did you upgrade to Oreo recently? If so, it's no longer there. You'll need a 3rd party messaging app (like Google's Messenger or Textra) that still supports individual ringtones.

Plenty of threads on this subject here in the Forums, unfortunately. S9's messaging app also got rid of that, so you can 'thank' Samsung for it

Yeah, I'm also very disappointed by this latest development. I always counted on listening to the message tones to figure out who was messaging me. I'm not happy about this!
