What type of internet? Your home WiFi? Or your own cellular "hotspot"? If so make sure you have the password and security type correct. Or public WiFi at a town building, school, work or café? There may be a security screen you need to go through and accept terms, entertain email, or other info first, before being granted full internet access. Bring up a browser and see if it takes you to a staging page. Complete the actions they require.
Also try rebooting/restarting the device AND the router IF you can.
