Hello, new to the forum. Nice to meet you all.

Long time iphone user here finally fed up with Apple. Before ditching my iPhone 6 I have a couple questions.

1) How is the 'rooting' community doing? iPhone jailbreaking is just about dead. I love to customize stuff and I would definitely be rooting at some point.

2) What all can be transferred from my iPhone to an Android device? Emails? Texts? etc.

Welcome.

I'm not sure rooting is as common as it used to be, or as necessary, though it depends on the kind of customization you plan to do. The "health" of the rooting community depends on the device you look at. Some of our device-specific sections have sub-sections related to rooting, though there are other sites with LOTS more info on that topic.

As for what you can transfer, we have a couple threads that might be of interest -

Emails are generally not stored on the device, so you should be able to get them all once you sign in to your accounts.

Thanks for the info!

Another question... can you create your own ringtones for Android? I use to be able on my jailbroken iPhone.

Yes. No need for any rooting or whatever. You can use ANY supported audio file as a ring tone. File format support may vary per exact phone model, but nothing a 30 second conversion won't fix.
