I love my HTC One M8 but upon trying to switch my service back to Verizon after changing it Friday they tell me my phone is no longer supported. Lame. So I need to find a new phone which mostly closely resembles my current rig. I don't like the whole "squeeze" thing on the new HTC phones so I need some ideas.

Here are my requirements in order of importance:

1. Rootable and unlocked/unlockable
2. Same size as the HTC One or smaller. Dimensions: 5.76 x 2.78 x 0.37 inches (146.36 x 70.6 x 9.35 mm)
3. Volume buttons on thumb (right), power button on top, nothing on left side.
4. Stereo speakers on the front or other configs that are good for music
5. Headphone jack
6. Standard charger

Things I don't care about...

Battery life
Camera
Latest processor
Bells and whistles

I would really appreciate any thoughts or advice and thank you for taking the time to assist.

Even though I received zero suggestions I ended up getting a Google fi project Android One Moto x4 and I'm quite happy with it. About the same size and the buttons are all on the right rather than both sides. I was able to unlock the bootloader with a code from Motorola (violates warranty) and root it quickly with Magisk. It doesn't have stereo speakers but it does have a headphone jack and it uses a USB C charging cord. Nice phone.
