I've got a new (well technically just returned and am awaiting a replacement because of the green screen issue...) Huawei Mate 20 Pro. To be honest, i'm not convinced by the camera. I'm not sure i rate it over my old Samsung S6 which has a 16mp camera.

Am i just using it wrong? In 40mp mode it's great, but you can't use all the camera functions (zoom etc). So i reduce it to 10mp mode, and sometimes it looks good but often i'm just getting bad photos.

What's the trick or what am i missing? Everyone raves about this camera but i'm not convinced.

There's evidently no zoom in the 40MP camera (it's not a different mode, it's a different camera). If you need zoom (and some other functions), use the 20MP camera.
