I bought a used Galaxy S6. I was a sucker and it wasn't charged. When I got home and charged it I get the following message when trying to connect to WiFi " an unauthorized attempt had been made to reset to factory default settings.". From what I have read the previous owner did a hard reset but didn't delete their Google accounts before. I tried contacting him but he is a ghost. Could someone please help. I lost my job and really need a reliable phone. Thank you in advance.

Unfortunately there is no way around this security measure. If you bought it through a place like Swapa, check with them to see if you have any recourse. If you bought it locally/in person, you may have a case for filing a fraud complaint with the police. Otherwise you are likely out of luck.

You may have bought a stolen phone. That's probably why you are unable to contact him.

Unfortunately we don't have a way to bypass that, you need the original Google account information.
