Welcome to Android Central! I see from your other post that you have a Galaxy S9+. Can you give more details about the problem? You can't get text message to show up where? You tried to include too many characters in your title thread, and it got cut off.

Thank you!
Yep! Definite newbe here!
When texts me through the message used to appear on my lock screen and if the phone was unlocked it would also show up on my screen.
However, since the update last week the message no longer appears on either screen. I did get it to have my contact's image pop up when a message is received, but not the message itself.
I'm including a screen shot of what I now see when a message is received.

Go to Settings>Apps, select your messaging app, and then Notifications. What is it set to there?

Here are the sequence of screens when checking the notification settings.

The Lock Screen setting says "Hide Content" -- change it to "Show All Content" (or the equivalent).

The other settings look correct, so I'm not sure why you're not getting them in the notification bar while the screen is unlocked. Which phone do you have? I'll suggest wiping the cache partition as a general troubleshooting step, but the correct steps depend on the device.

OK... I actually did notice that hide content... But I only have these 2 choices.
