My Samsung Internet was updated to its latest version in my J7 2015, that was seen in Android Oreo, although mine is Marshmallow. Its app data increased from 244 to 262 MB and my storage is slowly depleting. What can I do? Does never updating apps prevent my storage depleting? If so, How can I stop these updates from happening?

Hi, you can try clearing cache in recovery once in awhile , or go to your files folder and clear unnecessary files there. Apps do get bigger but not updating them can caus compatibility issues and some other ones.

Updating an app only takes up more space if the new version includes additional features for which the code increases the app size. It's also possible you originally had the very first version, when the original version of an app on the device is updated there is a need to keep the original version so the updates can be uninstalled if needed.

The amount of space an update takes up is marginal and would not make or break your situation.

If I do uninstall updates, then my browser data (accounts, passwords, searches etc.) will be wiped out?

    Possible it will.

Another problem is that this new version of Samsung Internet is laggier than the previous version in addition to wasting marginal storage. I have difficulty typing a post here.

I actually don't think your data would be erased. That would only happen if you were able to completely uninstall the app, or if you used the Clear Data option in Settings>Apps.
