How to limit sync onto new phone

I have two Moto G4 plus phones 64 gb. I obtained the second one recently. Before long, all or virtually all of the original phone's programs had been loaded into my "new" G4+. I had not wanted that to happen.

I have ordered a Moto G5S plus and don't want it to have the same apps as are on my two G4+ phones. I want it to have a different content and use. How do I prevent sync from loading my G4+ apps into my G5S+?

I believe you get prompted for what you want synced during sign in to your Google account for the first time on the device. Select to skip the app installation during that step.

You can create a new Gmail account just for that phone.
