SM J700H/DS battery not fully charging 82%

Left the phone on charge overnight. Only showing 46%. Then took battery out for 5 minutes. Put battery back in. Now showing 82%. Notification shows charging 82%. Icon at screen top right shows almost white battery with dark lightning zigzag. I think it is charging but it hasn't moved to 83% after 10 minutes. I have turned down screen brightness to around 65%.Not sure if it is charging or charging but not showing on the screen properly. Help! Its the wife's phone and I'm desperate!

Sounds like a battery issue , since you can remove it , I would try that first.
