There's a dark shade/screen covering all but the top sliver of my screen.

I can see through it, but I have to keep my brightness on a pretty high setting, especially outdoors. It started happening intermittently a few months ago, but now it's darker and not going away. I have a Galaxy S7.

It may not show in a screenshot. If so, post a photo of it if you wish. But it does sound like screen or hardware failure. Back up your personal data while you can.

Duplicate threads merged. If you're having problem posting a screenshot in a reply, are you using the Android Central app? That app doesn't allow you to attach photos to reply, I think. Use the main forums website on your browser, or the AC Forums app (the one that's based on Tapatalk).

yes it shows up in screenshots.. I just don't know how to post. also i'm noticing some teeny tiny glitchy movements now, but only occasionally.

I don't see anything unusual there, which would suggest the issue is with the screen itself. Can you take a picture of the phone screen using a different device, and show that?
