    Hi all,

When I turn on wifi/mobile data, updates are downloading without my permission. How can I stop this? Here I took some screenshots.

    Android version is 8.1.0

    Thanks

Welcome to the forums. The one on the left is an auto-update for the Play Store and it happens in the background automatically. That's normal behaviour.

The one on the right is probably a server side update for the Facebook app, that also happens in the background.

That doesn't help and I think the OP already did it. Google Play services and the Play Store app itself will continue to update in the background when a new version is detected.

You can always restrict the usage of background mobile data for the Play Store, though.

True , one option is let it happen on wifi if data a issue, but if a app needs update why not let it.

I can let it happen if I'm connected to my home wifi. Usually I connect to internet through bandwidth limited wifi networks and mobile data which is always limited. Sometimes I activate mobile data packages to stay updated on the score board. But these annoying updates cockblocking and eating my data. So I want to let these updates download at my will.

Can you differentiate foreground and background. I'm not good with mobile phone staffs.

Should I turn off Google service framework/android system etc. Is that bad idea?

Those are system processes, leave them as they are.

I'm not sure about the right steps in Xiaomi phones but find the data usage settings, see which apps are using mobile data and from that screen you can restrict background usage to any of them.
