Honor 20 randomly closing apps to home screen

Completely at random my phone will close apps and bounce back to the home screen. Only happens when I'm typing. The phone is only 2 weeks old and is an Honor 20 128gb 6gb ram

Welcome to Android Central! Is it possibly you're accidentally tapping the Home or Back button while typing? This kind of thing tends to happen more frequently with the trend towards no bezel. But gosh, it looks cool, doesn't it?:-\

That is something I never considered, I shall try without the 3 buttons along the bottom and see if I encounter the same issue. Thanks your your help

Switching from the 3 buttons to gestures seems to have fixed my issue, Thanks for your help
