Welcome to Android Central! I moved this from the Pixel 3a forum to the General Help forum (since there's no dedicated subforum for the Galaxy A40).

Looks like it's a longstanding system app: https://androidforums.com/threads/wa...-2-app.409530/

It's not malware. In that thread, it was mentioned that the system name is com.sec.android.personalization, which means it's a system app.

Here's another thread confirming that it's legit: https://forum.xda-developers.com/sho....php?t=2242278

Select it so we can see the app info. Chances are it's a system app.

The fact that there's a Disable button makes it most likely that it's a system app that has to do with location services. I wouldn't worry about it.

Malwarebytes is generally well-regarded, but as long as you have good browsing and app installation habits, your risk of malware is low. For the most part, it's still quite difficult to get an actual virus on your phone, because malware requires you to manually accept the installation (which is why they try to fool you into thinking you're installing something legitimate). Use common sense:

    1. Avoid shady websites that deal with things like porn, gambling, and "free" (aka pirated) apps/music/movies.

    2. Never ever tap on a link that appears in a popup while browsing, especially if they're warning you that your phone is infected -- they're just trying to scare you into installing some bogus "antivirus" app that is probably malicious itself.

    3. Only install apps from well-established app sources like Google Play Store or Amazon Appstore. Read a bunch of app reviews before installing an app to look for any complaints about adware or suspected malware.

    4. Turn on Google Play Protect features in Settings>Google>Security (or in the Play Store settings). This allows Google to periodically scan your phone's apps to look for malware.

    5. Turn off "Unknown Sources" in Settings>Security (or in Special App Access on newer phones). This prevents any app that wasn't obtained from Google Play Store from being installed (which could include malicious apps that are inadvertently downloaded).

Malwarebytes is good, but no security app can guarantee that it will catch 100% of malware that exists. That being said, malware on Android devices is still pretty rare, despite the hyped-up articles you see from time to time on tech sites. Most of that kind of malware affects users who stupidly install really shady apps, most often from sources outside the Play Store, or who think they deserve free music and movies from shady sites that regular people would otherwise have to pay for.

NSDSWebApp probably has to do with network service discovery: https://developer.android.com/traini...wirelessly/nsd

TEEgris is a Samsung security component: https://developer.samsung.com/teegris/overview.html

Package Installer is a system app used for app installation.

Is there a reason you're so concerned about malware on your phone? Did you get it from a less than reliable source, or have you been seeing unusual behavior of the phone? If you go through every system app that you don't recognize, you might give yourself unnecessary anxiety.
