How do the new quad-core 1.7 Ghz Tegra 3 and quad-core Snapdragon in the HTC One X+ and LG Optiumus G, respectively, compare to the Verizon version of the Galaxy S3 with the dual-core Snapdragon S4?

Will I notice a different in speed between the quad cores vs the Galaxy S3? Will the quad-core chips consume more battery life?

You'll definitely notice the speed boost with the quad core snapdragon. Not sure about the tegra (could go either way). In the One X the dual core snapdragon is more power efficient than the tegra 3, but htc is claiming a good boost in battery life with the One X+.

The quad core snapdragon is supposedly very battery efficient as well.
