Should I get a new phone or not

In November, as I've been told the 2 year contract with Verizon is up.
I have an HTC Rezound and was wondering if I should stay with this phone or upgrade.
Only problems I have is the battery and app incompatibilities.
With the battery problems I have thought of buying a solution to it but if I upgrade I will be wasting money.
So what should I do?

Your phone will be 2 years old by then which is 4 years old in the mobile world.

Definitely upgrade. On Verizon, I'd recommend the GS4. But you might want to wait a bit, because rumor is that Verizon's releasing a newer version of the HTC One soon.

If you're waiting until November, I'd definitely hold out for information on the X Phone, next Nexus and the Note 3. All three of those should be announced by then, and two should be on shelves already. (not sure the Nexus will work on Verizon or not, but at least we'll know).
