After OS update, rooting anew?

I'll have my very first Android update soon. As my device is rooted, I was wondering if I have to re-root it after the update, or is there any special/different way of performing an update on a rooted device? (I know on iOS you have to be very careful when updates are around...)

You have to flash a factory image to get an OTA update, after which you must re-root. But unlike iOS, an Android update doesn't block rooting, so it's easy to re-root.
