I recently picked this up and looking to root it. Any news?

Hi guys, i just got this and i wanna know why its not up to date with the current roid operating system? i think its kitkat? at least bestbuy told me this... and also i am using this to joural... is there any sold apps that backup my jouraling so i dont lose what i type if i walked away and had to shut it off? i would like to talk to someone who uses this device and is confident about helping me. thank you in advance

To save notes, try a 3rd party app from the play store. (I use 2, Simple Notepad which doesn't work on KitKat, and Color Note which I've had no problem with.) Both of those can, I think, upload to a cloud automatically (but I'm not sure because I haven't tried it).

i just noticed i do not have kitkat? and when i try to check for updates it says its up to date but according to best buy i have old verison ... i hate Verizon with every fiber of my being.. they are rude, they lie and they over charge and they lie.. can someone tell how i can force the update?
