charging a xperia z1 on 4.4.2

Guys can someone answer me this: is it possible that my z1 has some sort of software based battery protection? It seems i can only charge my phone when the battery falls below 50% or so! I used to have problems like inconsistent charging but it somehow fixed itself or so i think and now this emerging pattern occurs. Every time i try to charge the phone when its on 50% or more it doesnt work. Funnily enough, every other charger but the original seems to work...

Did it happen after you update to 4.4.2. If so, maybe just like what you thought.
