Currently I have an iPad Mini 2. In the past I've had many other iPads, but I also have owned both the Nexus 7 and Nexus 7 2013 previously. I wanted to pick up another android tablet to replace my iPad, but I'm not sure which one to get. I was really looking forward to the Nexus 9, but I've it of many issues including light bleeding, wifi disconnecting, and some performance issues among other things. Everyone seems to like the Samsung Galaxy Tab S, but the processor and graphics card are nowhere near as good as the nexus 9. My iPad Mini 2 can run games much better than the Tab S. I was considering the Nvidia Shield, but it has poor battery life and I have heard people saying that the corners of the device crack after a couple of months and many users have issues with the wifi disconnecting. Does anyone have any suggestions for other tablets I could look into, or any comments from Nexus 9 owners. Let me know, thanks.

Sony Xperia Z3 tablet or Nexus 9. But IMHO, if you are going to pay that price for a tablet...you might as well pay the same price for an iPad.

Not too familiar with Android tablets, but would there be an advantage for someone like me with a Surface Pro 2 to switch to an Android tablet? Sorry for being slightly off topic, but since you are discussing new Android tablets, I thought I'd take the time to learn a little more about them too.

It would really depend on what you plan on using it for. A surface pro is more like a laptop. If you want to be able to run laptop/desktop applications then you should stick with the surface, but if you don't use that many desktop programs then an android would suit you just fine. If you want better advice, you could say what you usually use your surface for and you may want to post a new thread specifically about this.

There wouldn't be any advantage really. Unless you feel that you are not using all the features of your Surface Pro 2 and want to step down. Then a smaller sized Android tablet might fit your needs better.
