A new phone made by vivo, the vivo Xplay5 features a dual curved/edge screen like the S6&S7 edge.

The flagship model ($650) features 6GB LPDDR4 RAM, 2 Hi-Fi Sabre DAC and 3 amplifiers, and Snapdragon 820.

The regular model ($560) features 4GB of RAM, lower end DAC and amplifier, and snapdragon 625.

Both model uses 5.43-inch QHD AMOLED screen, fingerprint scanner, 16MP Sony IMX298 camera, 3600 mAh battery, and are available in pink and gold.

Sadly it doesn't have USB-C, and no feature for the dual edge screen.

It's amazing to see a phone with huge 6GB of RAM. Do we really need that amount of RAM in our phone? Can that phone handle and use all 6GB of its RAM?

And also, since when did DAC got so popular?

    That's an impressive device.

I don't know why it has become fashionable to talk about DAC, since it's not new. It's a bit like discussing that interesting development they thought of for cars, the steering wheel, a great improvement on the tiller.

Why do you need 6gb for on a phone. This is some. Pc is fine with 4gb running Windows 10. Photoshop recommends 8gb on pc. Yet a phone with mobile os that runs mobile apps has 6gb. What exactly they are thinking you can do with 6gb of ram on a phone. The answer is simple. Nothing

Cool... I like it. Whether or not the phone and today's apps have the power-usage functions to capitalize on that much speed remains to be seen. Reminds of of the two-face batman villain. Apple looking on the back, Samsung on the front.

DAC (the process itself) has long been a deficiency of many portable music devices, including cell phones, laptops, tablets and anything bluetooth... for the minority who hear it that way. Surf head-fi, the proof is in the (or its) history.
