Does anyone know of any current/future OS of Android that will support native encryption? We are working with MobileIron which works well with our IPhone environment but would like to start using Android devices as well. However, without the ability to have native encrpytion we aren't able to do so.

Any help/info is appreciated.

You mean filesystem/databases? Supposedly Motorola is working on that, and in fact the Gingerbread leak for D2 and X has encryption as an option. It didn't work for me though, but I presume it will on the official release.

We need it to be able to encrpyt the e-mail on the device because of HIPPA and other regulations. Do you know of an official release date of the leak in which you speak about?

I don't know of an official release date. According to some stories there have been some OTA updates sent out to some Droid X testers.
