I was wondering if you'll be able to check email or browse the web on your laptop, tablet or phone while "casting" Netflix or other service to the TV?

Yes, I know you can't see your laptop, tablet or phone screen on the TV just the apps or services.

Just wondering if you can do other things on the device at the same time.

Once you are "casting" you can do whatever. Not sure about older versions of Android, but on 4.1 and 4.2 it will place a notification in the notification bar that lets you control the content (basic functions like play, pause, rewind, fast forward) and controls are also placed on the lock screen. Tapping the notification brings you back to the app being cast.

yes, you will be able to do anything on your device when it is casting.

the model is you send command to chromecast and chromecast use the link to grab the content from web instead of your device.

This way you save battery and multitask on your device.
