    Only 3 apps I know play local videos from Android and capable of streaming it via Chromecast:
    1. Avia Media Player (not free, in-app purchasement)
    2. AllCast (not free, limited usage)
    3. LocalCast (free, available in xda-dev site)

    However, none of them display the subtitle. Can you think of an alternative? Do you think in the future this will be possible?

    I think the issue is most of those look at local files as content recorded on that device. That would mean basically home movies. Those wouldn't have subtitles. If you look at PLEX it can stream subtitles. The problem is plex is more for managing media from a central storage Plex Media Server. You can stream from your local device if you sync it from the PMS to your phone or tablet though.
